Karen Burns

Voice & Musical Theater Instructor

​Karen Burns worked as a professional dancer and actor in New York and Los Angeles in film, television and theatre. Favorite projects include Rockette at Radio City Music Hall, A Chorus Line-the Movie, and Rosina in Becoming Memories for which she not only received an excellence in theatre award but also her husband, Keith and eventually her two daughters Hannah and Talia. She is currently a professor of dance at Central Arizona College where she teaches jazz, ballet and formed the resident dance company The Middle of Somewhere.

Karen has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern and musical theatre, as well as extensively in acting and music. Her choreography and acting have won numerous awards locally, in Los Angeles and New York City. She returns occasionally to L.A, for work as an actress and to teach master classes in dance. Karen has been teaching dance for 25 years between L.A. and Phoenix and couldn’t have loved it more. She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and is represented by the Ford/Robert Black Agency.
