Jazz, Contemporary Instructor & Poetry in Motion Team Instructor

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Amy grew up dancing starting from the age of 2 and a half years old. She started her dance training at Spisak Dance Academy and was a part of their company, “The Jataba Dance Troupe”. While there she trained in jazz, ballet, lyrical, tap, and acrobatics. As a company member, Amy performed in their annual Nutcracker Ballet every year and several other performances including the opening ceremonies for the AZ Diamondbacks, Magic Music Days at Disneyland, and various other performances throughout the valley.

While in the company, she also competed in various competitions and conventions all throughout the valley and nationally. She was entered in group dances and solos in competitions ranging from Dance Masters of Arizona, Dance Masters of America, American Dance Awards, LA Dance Force, Showstopper, Spotlight, Jump, Dupree Dance Convention, and many more! Through the competition world she was also exposed to master classes from big names in the dance industry such as Tyce Diorio, Mia Michaels, Judy Rice, and Joey Dowling to name a few.

Currently Amy is a company dancer for Scottsdale Arizona Jazz Ensemble and Fusion Company. She also has been teaching jazz, contemporary, and ballet at various studios throughout the valley. Amy loves teaching dance and sharing her knowledge of technique with her students. She is happy to have the opportunity to share her knowledge and passion for dance with the students!
